I'm brand new to the Group, and pretty new to Tribe. I swear, THAT's why I have no friends. Here's my dirty laundry.
- Name: Paulio
- Real name: okay, it's just Paul
- Location: Portland, OR
- Age: 40
- Sing?: yes. Sing well? hmm. Who cares? I do the best I can.
- Instruments played: all kinds of stuff. I collect 'em (when there's a little extra money in my pocket) and try to learn 'em. Concertina, violin, mandolin, zither, as well as the usual rock standards. I've been writing on piano the most lately, but most writing has been done on guitar.
- Instruments I'd LIKE to play: For some reason, I haven't tried the instruments you have to blow through. I love hearing a tuba as a replacement for a bass in a rock song. Wish I could play the dang tuba!
- Songwriter?: yeah.
- "Poet" / writer?: Lyricist. Sometimes writer. Not often a poet, or if I am I don't know it.
- Immediate goals: pay the mortgage
- Future goals: eat in a restaurant
- Fave music styles: I like DIY'ers, and artists that get a lot of creative breathing room, (and use it to explore something interesting). I also like 'regular music' like country and rock.
- Fave musicians: PJHarvey, Bob Dylan, Robert Johnson, Stones, oh this list could just go on and on.
- Newest music u listen 2: I like listening to friends' music + stuff that people put on the net. Does anyone know any good DIY on the web? I plan to put something up but haven't yet. I'll let y'all know.
- Oldest?: Country blues. Robert Johnson, Charlie Patton, "Blind" guys, etc.
- Most underecognized musician(s): me, my friends, you, everyone without a producer. Creativity itself. Is it rolling, Bob?
- What I'd like from this group: Good new music, inspirado, ideas, pressure to perform.
